Ecclesiastes 3:11
I love this verse. There is something so sweet and comforting to me when I read the words, "he has made everything beautiful in its time."
Just as flowers start out as a little seed and grow and mature into something beautiful, so do we as human beings...as God's workmanship. I think it's also important to remember that it is not just the end result that is beautiful, but the process, the growing pains, the good, the bad, and the ugly...all of the different seasons of life.
I love knowing that I was created in God's hands. Did you know that you were too? You may not believe it. You may not even believe in God. Maybe you have felt wronged by God before or what you thought was God because some freaky "Christian" turned you off to Christianity, but trust me, the Lord made you beautiful on the inside AND out.
There is a time for everything. I love this chapter of Ecclesiastes where we see some of the examples of the times and seasons that we will go through or have already experienced. Maybe you don't feel like this is your time. Maybe you feel ugly...maybe it's on the outside...maybe you feel ugly on the inside because of the circumstances you have gone through that you believe "define" you. Well, your circumstances don't define you. Only the Lord defines us, and he has defined you as beautiful, so remember that today. Don't fall for lies. Don't let yourself be brought down because of what someone has said about you or worse yet, what you have said about you. Often, we are our worst critic. You are beautiful, and you can't even fathom your eternal Father's love for you.
