Sally Hansen Effects Real Nail Polish Strips Review!
I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I just wanted to share a little something I did tonight and do a little beauty review. I FINALLY purchased the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in "Tie-Dye For." I have been wanting to try these nail strips for months! I had been avoiding purchasing them because putting strips on my nails, filing them down, and making them fit perfectly seemed kind of like a chore. As it turns out, the process wasn't that bad after all. I think that my nails look pretty cute! Basically, you pick the print you like, remove any nail polish from your nails, place the sticky strips on your nails, and file away at the excess on the edges of your nails, and VOILA, you have a cute manicure that takes no dry time.
Pros:
-The prints are really cute!
-You don't have to have a steady hand and be good at painting your nails perfectly.
-You don't have to worry about spilling nail polish or wiping polish off your skin when you mess up around your cuticles.
-This doesn't take super long to do, so I'm sure after awhile you'd get used to doing this in about 10 minutes.
-No dry time! Instant glorification!
Cons:
-I didn't enjoy the process of picking the best shaped strips for my nails and applying them/filing the excess down.
-I'm not really sure that these will last 10 days. The box says that they will, but based on how they feel on my fingertips, I don't see how these won't split/chip when I shampoo my hair.
With that said, I'd say these turned out to be a success! Like I said, I'll be curious to see how long these last. If they last 10 days, I would say these are totally worth it for a special occasion or maybe even a short vacay! I probably wouldn't try a solid color strip on my nails...I'd just rather paint them if I was going with a solid. But...if I was in the mood for a print and wanted to do it myself, I'd definitely go with these strips!
Here's a few quick shots from my phone!

Friday, Friday, Friiiiiidayyyyyyy!!!!!
Hellooooooo there! bnfunky here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been wanting to blog SOOOOO bad lately, but it has been so crazy up in hurr!
How is everyone? Actually, no one really has to answer, because even though I haven’t been writing….I have reading everyday and catching up on y’all if I missed!
Today, I am in the mood to pinterest it up, so I’m gonna just show what I’m loving this week! We just moved, so I have been pinning like crazy and I’m trying to get my bearings with the whole décor thing. My mom can tell you, I’m not the best at coming up with decorating ideas without asking a million questions about how to do something/what looks good together. I either have to completely, 100% copy something I see in a magazine or online, or it simply just doesn’t get done….aka, my Christmas tree that Josh and I put up last night!
I hope everyone is having a blessed Friday! I have been reading James a lot lately. I hope this is for someone today and gives you some encouragement to PRESS ON, even through trials and suffering!
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” James 1:2-8
This gives me comfort and peace, because even when everything is going wrong, I know that I am developing perseverance, and God is by my side. No matter what we are going through, no matter how painful or sad, this is comfort if we really want to obey the Lord and be refined by Him. Even though we experience pain, we know it is only temporary and the Lord is doing something grand that we don’t understand yet. It really comforts my soul. I hope it helps you as well!
Lastly, for any ladies that are interested, I am leading a small group beginning in January on Tuesday nights. More details to come in the next few weeks.
